Embrace The Aquarian Age THIS FEBRUARY 2021
Hello 2021, we welcome you with open arms and an open heart. It’s safe to say that 2020 was a year full of tumultuous energy and we’re hoping to leave all those bad vibes behind!
Thankfully, the end of last year brought in a new era, the Age of Aquarius; and with it, we can truly turn a new leaf and start building stronger and better things.
What Is All Of This “Age Of Aquarius” Talk?
The Earth moves into retrograde in each of the 12 zodiac signs over the course of 25,868 years, which means each age of the signs will last approximately 2,100 years. Earth has now moved into Aquarius, ushering in this new age of enlightenment, future-forward thinking, and humanitarian focus. This age began on December 21, 2020, with the Jupiter and Saturn conjunction. Jupiter and Saturn will spend the entire year of 2021 in this innovative, objective and freedom oriented sign. Jupiter brings expansion and opportunity, while Saturn brings a certain structure and responsibility.
What Does This Mean For You, Aquarius Or Not?
These two planets, in combination with Aquarius, have definitely brought some chaotic energy with them. While enlightenment, future-forward thinking and expansion of society is great, there are also a lot of growing pains involved, and Saturn will make sure to reign in both Jupiter’s expansive mindset and Aquarius’s rebel heart by adding structure and discipline to the areas we need it most. Take this energy and implement it into your own life—what habits, relationships, aspects of your lifestyle need to change and evolve? Use Aquarian energy to think “outside the box” and try something new. However, let Saturn help you in making these new ideas and habits possible by adding in some structure and building blocks to make it successful.
2021 looks like a great year in general for Aquarius, as they will be aligned with their ruling planet for a good portion of the year. This means positive growth is a big possibility.

During This Month…
Mercury’s In Retrograde—YIKES!
The two words we hate to hate to hear, and yet we know it comes frequently throughout the year—Mercury Retrograde. Surviving this retrograde is pretty simple if you prepare for it and plan ahead. Though Mercury in retrograde can come across as pesky, it’s a great time for self reflection. (You can learn more about how to survive Mercury Retrograde here.)
This particular retrograde will be fueled by the humanitarian spirit of Aquarius, starting on January 30th and ending on February 20th. When the communication planet goes backward, we're more likely to space out and forget to respond to an important email or leave a partner hanging. Because Aquarius rules friendships, collaborations, technology, and innovative ideas, we're likely to see slowdowns in all of these areas. However, Mercury is happy in this sign. The logical and intellectual nature of Aquarius will help us step back and stay calm during any communication mishaps.
If you are an Aquarius:
You may be feeling this retrograde extra hard this month perhaps like you're in a three-week-long brain fog, unable to form a thought that feels like your own. Take this time to give your mind a break by slowing down and allowing yourself some time to reflect on where you are. Let go of pre-conceived notions of who you are and start fresh.
New Moon
A new moon represents the end of one cycle and the beginning of another new 28-day cycle. During this phase you get an invigorating burst of energy and initiative. So this is an excellent time for making a fresh start, turning over a new leaf, or starting a new project. You can also question old habits, behaviors, and beliefs as you search for new and inventive ways to make progress. The New Moon in Aquarius will be direct on February 11th, ushering in some of Aquarius’ no-holds-barred nature.
Utilize Aquarian energy in is this lunar cycle to transport you to places we’ve never been before. Maybe for you that’s taking up a new technological hobby, making an effort to help your local community or charity you’re passionate about or simply trying something new and out of the ordinary for you. Open your mind (and perspectives) to other possibilities in your life. The Aquarian path is eccentric and it’s weird. For this reason, Aquarius is inherently exciting and revolutionary. This is NOT the time to get comfortable or worship the status quo. Break down some structures, be free and feel your wild, rebellious spirit.

Full Moon
February 27th brings us the Full Moon in Virgo, called the “Snow Moon”—a moon about craving change. This particular earth sign will keep Aquarian energy grounded during this period and help to add some structure and organization to these ideas of “change” and the chaotic energy taking place. Expect to focus on the details of your life—particularly your work life—and your day-to-day routine. With this Virgo energy, try being more tolerant and accept imperfections of life. It is better to trust life and let it run its own way, not everything must be according to our expectations.
